U.S. Senator Eve Bowring donated the land for this ranch in the memory of her husband. The ranch house has displays of items that show thier public service careers, antique silver and china, and crystal.
This is a living ranch filled with history including the replicated Sod House-vegetable and herb gardening, and other activities. The annual event of the Bowring Ranch is Sod House Sunday, held the last Sunday in June.See the living history activities at the Sod House – pioneer cooking, vegetable and herb gardening, rug making and other ranch crafts. Scheduled tours by request.
This ranch will show you the history and geology of the Sandhills and the Nebraska cattle ranching business.Bowring Ranch Visitor Center Office & Ranch House.
The park preserves a turn-of-the-century working cattle ranch. The ranch house, outbuildings and visitor center contain displays devoted to the extraordinary careers of Arthur and Eve Bowring and ranching in the sandhills. Arthur was a state legislator, and Eve was the first Nebraska woman to enter Congress.
Open Memorial Day-Labor Day, daily, 8am-5pm. Tours given 9am-4pm. Grounds open during off season, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Sod House Sunday is held the last Sun in June and Christmas at the Bowring is held the 1st Sun in Dec. Park permit required. 308-684-3428
