Mike Hill < My Grandfather Was Henery gillaspie he had two brother's Bob and George , I also have other relitive's at Valentine Shelborne and Hann , we use to have reunion's at Valentine ,but our family members are getting fewer and fewer all the time, my mother Graduated at the school which is now the little musium at springview.

I am from Crete Nebraska , I work in the offshore oil feild’s of the gulf of mexico, Iam still a nebr. resident Robert F. Gillaspie is my great ,great Uncle , he was known as Arkansas Bob , I have some history on him and Bill America, one story was writter by the neileh county attourney I also have the story about the T.O ranch and the Spade ranch playing baseball , My family visit’s and has decorated Our relitive’ grave’s at Cody and Valentine ,myself included for year’s ( Arkansas monument is leaning Im probably going to have it reset) This message is directed to Jill Mackor. Hello,
I am trying to locate my great grandmothers grave site. In her obituary it says that she was taken to Valentine, and then interned in the Valentine Cemetery. Her name was Christina Bunnell (maiden name Mannhalter) b. 1890 d. Dec 30,1910. Does anyone know where the cemetery is located?

Hi I am interested in my family history. I have been told my family owned a livery stable in Valentine or around that area. Their name was Bullus (I think). My grandma was born January 10, 1902. Please let me know if you have any information that could be helpful.

Jill we are cousins then. I have been to Valentine and have visited his grave site he has quite a tombstone, there is also a cherry county history book that has a pretty good write up on bob and his family,

I am looking for information on the ghost town of Dewitty and the cemetery associated with it. I cannot find it on any map. The only description of the location is: “Approximately 10 miles north and east of Brownlee.” I would like to visit the site, but would prefer to have coordinates or at least a road to be on before I venture all the way from Omaha! Do you have any more information you could share with me? Thank you!

I am looking for information on the MW Ranch which I understand became the Bachelor Ranch. My grandfther and his parents immigrated from Germany to NE and worked on the ranch, 1925-26. I am also interested in John H Bachelor. From my fmaily documents, it looks like my grandfather’s cousin, Emma Wolf, married John Bachelor prior to the 1930 census. I also have documents indicating some sort of court action between John and Emma’s father, Peter Wolf. I would love to close this gap in our family history! Thank you for your help!

I would like to know if this museum has been in Valentine since the early 1900′s. My sister, my sister in law are going to visit there in early July and would like to know what the procedure is to be able to visit the museum. Through the years we have always heard that our grandfather or great gandfather had given a set of spurs to the museum and wondering if we have the right one. Their names were Mecijah and Edmond Harris and were blacksmiths in that area. Any information you have would help. Thank you. Carol King

I am looking for information on Frank Kendall. The wedding announcement from 1885 ” The Item” tells me that ” Mr Kendall is a successful business man in Valentine.” He married Cloe Ewing of Ewing, Nebraska on May 12, 1885. Can you give me any information on Mr Kendall?

We are planning a large family get together in Nebraska and feel it would be a way to introduce that part of Nebraska to the grandchildren.
