Aurora Nebraska – A Place to Visit – A Place to do Business – A Place to Live

Situated in the little town of Aurora is an opportunity to get back to the roots of the good life.  With a population of 4282 you would think there wouldn’t be anything to do or see or businesses to shop but that isn’t the case in this ideal little town tucked in the heart of rural Nebraska. The community was named the Number 1 Place to Raise a Family by Progressive Farmer Magazine and has the sixth lowest property taxes in the state of Nebraska.  Now, it doesn’t get much better than that to know that this is someplace to go and raise your children with the ability to provide them a safe, enjoyable environment.  If you enjoy the simple life you will love it in Aurora.

Do you think you can’t get what you need here?  Wrong, with all the shops that are in the community you can get what you want and enjoy knowing the people you are buying from.  Supporting your local community is part of the small town way of life that makes it so special.  If you really need a mall fix Grand Island is just 37 miles away where you can go the department stores that are not available in Aurora.

If you want to live in Aurora and work for a company in Grand Island or one of the other larger communities the commute is easy, just like living in a city and spending 40 minutes driving to work in city traffic, here you can either work in Aurora and drive a couple minutes or you can work in the city and make the drive on the highway without the city congestion.  It doesn’t get much better than that!

If you are looking for something to see while you are in the area you may want to visit the Plainsman Museum where you can walk through a sod house, listen to player pianos, look over the artifacts that are on display, visit the one-room schoolhouse (which some of you will remember seeing and the young will be aghast that kids really learned like that!)  You can visit the home of General Delevan Bates along with really spending some time learning about the history of the area.

Do you want to have some hands on learning opportunities?  You can get them at the Edgerton Explorit Center which provides exhibits, activities, special events, camps and tour programs to learn about a whole range of new and exciting adventures.

Not many communities this size have an Art Center but Aurora does.  The L’eslise Art Center and Gallery will both educate you and provide you the opportunity to see some fabulous art.  The have programs for children, teens and adults along with providing fabulous displays of visual art created by regional and national artists.  What a fabulous way to spend a day!

The community of Aurora will welcome you to come and visit.  You might love it enough to make it your new home.
