<description>Dancers of the Plains is an entertaining and educational Native American event, featuring Native American dancing and drumming by the Plains tribes. In 2009 the Great Platte River Road Archway welcomes the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma back to their traditional homeland for the featured tribe of the first exhibition of a pow wow celebration. Visitors can also learn about Native American life on the plains from primitive-life exhibitors and vendors, enjoy American Indian style food and crafts, and more. Admission to the primitive exhibitor and pow wow exhibition area will be by free-will donation. Guests can also tour the Archway at regular admission prices.

Join us on June 20, 2009 for the Pawnee Powwow with 16 or 17 Pawnee dancers. Starting 2010 we will be making this a yearly event with several Native American nations competing in the powwow.

10:00 to 4:00pm CST Vendors and Demonstrations
1:00 to 3:00pm Dance and Drum Exhibition
		                  Pawnee Performance
Soldier song dances, round dances and war dances

Sarah Wright from the Archway Group.

Thanks Sarah for the updated information! We hope there are so many people there you will wonder where to put them all!!
