North Platte Rail Fest

Put your ear to the ground and you can already hear Rail Fest 2010 coming around the bend. It’s looking to be an incredibly fun-filled weekend celebrating the Union Pacific Railroad and its many employees.

Are you a railroad buff? History will be steaming into North Platte aboard the "Living Legend" #844 steam engine. Tours of Union Pacific Bailey Yards, at least part of the Union Pacific Heritage Fleet, rides on the "Operation Lifesaver" train, a locomotive training simulator are highlights of the three-day-long celebration.

Centered in Cody Park in the Original Town section of North Platte, the festival features non-stop entertainment and events designed to provide fun for the entire family.
